Chris Devlog for Week 7 to 12
For the final few sprints I worked on improving a number of aspects of the game’s functionality. Firstly, Gosia wrote up a broad plot and dialogue for the entire game. It was then my job to take this script and do another pass over it and add some more humor and ensure that it is appropriate for the functions that are available in the game so far. I did this and eventually added it to the game.
The game also indicates to the player who they are supposed to talk to next by placing a quest indicator above their head. There were some additions to the dialogue system during this sprint as well. Instead of changing the structure of the dialogue system I added a command to every sentence string that would define which character is speaking as well as how many characters are on screen, useful for when we only need the main character to talk to them self. Many other additions were made as well as various bug fixes which are ongoing (and probably will be for a while).
